Pena-Vaca Adobe – Vacaville

Yes. That is right on Interstate 80 heading to Sacramento. 20 bedrock mortars and a grave.

Bob feels cupules on this mortar rock.

The original adobe was built right on top of this Native American village site in 1842.

This 11 mortar rock is a short walk up Butcher Road in Lagoon Valley Park, right next to the adobe.

This hillside across from the water tanks on Butcher Road was covered in Indian Soap Root plants.

We believe it may have been cultivated to thrive there by the people who lived here before us.

Indian Soap Root Plant had and still has many useful parts.

Right there off Interstate 80. All you have to do is get out of your car. Prime real estate in 1842.
