Stromer Spring – Livermore

This fantastic ancient site featuring 25 bedrock mortars, numerous cupules and Hokan era PCNs
is about 2 miles above Lake Del Valle and a 1200 foot climb.

 

Go to the far west shore parking lot and find this sign pointing up the hill.

 

When you get to this sign post turn right.

These PCNs may be older than the Pyramids. There are several on this rock.
Pecked, Curved, Nucleated. An important form of prehistoric art.

 

The numbers indicate how many bedrock mortars we have found at each site.
