Notable for the signage directing you to the Petroglyph Rock. Maybe a mile and a half and a 600 foot climb. Worth it. There are reportedly 3 rocks on Ring Mountain featuring this art. We’ve only found two.

 

The meaning is lost for now, but it is still there.

 

We think this is an ancient prayer circle. still usable today. Hey! Maybe we’re wrong. Great 360 degree view. That’s Mount Diablo in the distance.

 

On a clear day, the city is right there. And yet…

 

The fires represent Native American sites of note.
