NE Brushy Peak

North East Brushy Peak

Livermore

The North East side of Brushy Peak is a land of wonder, magic, and creation.

Besides featuring several bedrock mortar sites, it adjoined the Altamount Pass trading ground, reputed to be one of the most important and vibrant in Central California.

For thousands of years, need I add.

Caves and Hideaways everywhere.  The legendary bandit Joaquin Murrieta luked here.

The Indian legends maintain that the First People originated here.

The Prairie Falcon and Coyote were already well established.

We call this the Fetus Rock

Now known as Post Office Rock, messages were left here.

Livermore Parks and Rec owns and controls this site.

Hopefully someday they will welcome the general public.

We went on their private tours.
