When we first hiked out in this direction we looked over at a little rock outcrop and Doc Hale said “There’s nothing there”. We checked it out anyway. 38 bedrock mortars in a prime village/camp site setting.
Following Randall Milliken’s guidelines we think this is the border between Volvon and Ssaoum tribal territories.
Enter off Vasco Road and park right at the entry kiosk lot.The green trees on the skyline are the destination.Maybe a mile and a half out.
Get on the Black Hills Trail and stay on it almost to the top.
It’s right in there.

We have only seen a handful of “Fat Lip Mortars”out of the several thousand we have observed.
